Project areas include: Identifying future-state opportunity areas; identifying and prioritizing new/improved value propositions; informing UBI and telematics marketable products and features, including: 3rd party sensor data; semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles; car sharing; advanced pricing; and customer engagement opportunities, resulting in new viable business offerings to build a sustainable competitive advantage and optimize value for the customer.
We are looking for an innovative and collaborative Strategy Design Consultant to develop strategies and vision for our digital auto and telematics products for the American Family Enterprise.
The ability to curate and synthesize macro trends and business analytics and form cohesive strategies, while aligning stakeholders are the key attributes that we’re looking for in a Strategy Design Consultant.
This role requires a deep understanding of product development within a large-scale business environment and combined strengths in both critical-thinking and design-thinking principles.

Synthesize all inputs into meaningful and actionable insights.
Develop impactful and easily digestible verbal/visual reports/presentations that effectively communicate innovation recommendations and respective rationale. Design pathways and processes to enable innovation.
Lead interactive Design workshop sessions that: frame opportunity areas; drive design ideas; and guide teams through prioritization.
Inform smart sustainable innovation; as informed by deep understanding of P&L levers and business design models.
Inform & champion competitive customer experiences, framing high-level CX journeys and guiding principles, at a program level and portfolio level.
Apply a cohesive and wholistic 360° Product Strategy approach across various inputs and partners, including: Value Proposition; Customer Segmentation; Customer Experience; Channel Distribution; Financials; Operating Companies.
Align various cross-functional partners into a cohesive set of considerations.
Lead and collaborate with: fellow strategists; researchers; program designers; UX designers; data scientists; engineers; external vendors; and business partners to identify, create and build new innovative mobility solutions to delight enterprise customers.
Requires 8+ years experience in either or combination of: Strategic Design | Business Design | Design Strategy | Product Portfolio Strategy.
Requires knowledge of working in abstract product deliveries, versus just physical.
Demonstrated experience in identifying customer needs and market trends.
Demonstrated experience in Design Strategy | Design Thinking methodologies, principals, and tools.
Proven expertise in Systems Thinking, with ability to zoom in and out of broad ecosystems.
Grounded in P&L fundamentals.
Ability to plan and lead cross-functional workshops, designed to specific outcomes.
Solid visual communication skills, with strong story-telling strengths.
Capable of framing complex problems and developing unique perspectives to advance existing solutions.
Can iterate towards the desired vision for ‘tomorrow’ while understanding needs for ‘today’.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Preference for, but not limited to experience within the Insurance or Financial Services industry verticals.
