The Senior Manager Innovation is responsible for leading and integrating innovation projects and ideation sessions, ensuring that customer, scope and budget objectives are met and that resulting solutions are customer-centric, sustainable, and scalable. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
Structures complex and ambiguous problems, synthesizes findings, develops innovative, customer-centric options, makes logically supported recommendations and facilitates decision-making sessions.
Learns and applies knowledge of Fifth Third's unique culture, competencies, processes and values to create distinctive innovations with competitive advantage.
Partners with the Head of Innovation and Corporate Strategy team to evolve the innovation strategy and identify opportunities throughout the bank.
Envisions, leads and maintains innovation projects and experiments, including documentation such as presentations, timelines, project plans, and governance documents.
Partners with, and energizes, multi-functional teams and stakeholders to discover, ideate, and utilize insights to solve customer needs.
Facilitates ideation and working sessions to bring insights to life in the business.
Works with vendors and internal stakeholders to bring customer personas and journey maps to life.
Structures and leads qualitative and quantitative research that brings evidence-based rigor to insights.
Acts as a change agent to promote strategic thinking and influence at the Senior Vice President level.
Builds capability by developing and nurturing Fifth Third's Innovation Catalyst' network of human-centered design practitioners and facilitators.
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
Bachelor's Degree in Design, Entrepreneurship, or related field required. Master's degree desirable.
8-10 years of progressive work experience in innovation and/or product development.
Strong presentation skills and ability to educate and energize others to better serve customers.
Ability to facilitate groups using Human-Centered Design methods to expand thinking, identify possibilities and delight customers.
Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their application.
Strong understanding of the financial services industry and operating rhythms preferred.
Experience applying Design Personas and journey mapping to business challenges preferred.
A collaborative, customer-centric mindset and ability to teach others are critical.
